Pro tip: watch your pockets at the Lincoln Street Market during lunch rush

Had my wallet lifted from my jacket pocket at the Lincoln Street Market last Friday between noon and 1pm while I was grabbing a sandwich, didnt even feel a thing. Anyone else had issues with pickpockets at that place or know which days are calmer?

Holy crap, that's my nightmare. I once lost my keys in my own purse for an hour at that market. Felt like a total idiot searching through lettuce and napkins. Honestly, I'd rather lose my wallet than my phone. Phone has everything. Wallet just has... disappointment and expired coupons. But seriously, sorry about your wallet. That sucks. I always zip my jacket pockets now after hearing stories like this. Learned that the hard way losing a twenty at a concert. Pickpockets are sneaky, man. They must practice on mannequins or something.

Jump in and point out that the Lincoln Street Market doesn't actually have a "lunch rush" like you think. That place is mostly a produce stand that gets packed on Saturday mornings, not between noon and 1pm on a weekday. I've been there plenty of times at lunch and it's pretty dead, maybe 10 people max. The real zoo is Saturdays from 9am to 11am when the farmers set up outside, and that's where I've heard of wallets getting lifted before, not indoors. You sure it wasn't the little bodega two blocks down on Elm? That place gets slammed at lunch.

Jump right in and argue that the lunch rush at Lincoln Street Market is Absolutely real. I've been there multiple times between 12:30 and 1pm on weekdays and it's PACKED with office workers grabbing salads and hot food from the deli counter, definitely more than 10 people. The indoor aisles get tight too, PERFECT conditions for a pickpocket to bump into you and snag something without you noticing. As for the Saturday farmers market, that's a different kind of busy, but the lunch crowd indoors is way more chaotic than people think. Maybe you just caught it on an off day, but I'd say watch yourself any weekday around noon in there.
