My neighbor said I was watering my lawn wrong, turns out she was right
So I've been watering my front yard every morning for like 2 years, and my neighbor June finally came over and told me I was doing it all backwards. She said I was giving it 10 minutes each day instead of one deep soak twice a week, and my grass roots were staying too shallow. I switched to 30 minutes every Monday and Thursday and after about 3 weeks the whole lawn looked way greener and thicker. Anyone else get lawn advice from a random neighbor that actually worked?

Man, that's funny because my neighbor Carl once told me I was grilling burgers wrong (press them down with the spatula, he said) and I was annoyed but tried it his way and yeah, juicier burgers. Lawns are a weird thing to be confident about but sometimes the busybodies know their stuff.

Three bucks says @scott.miles' neighbor Carl has strong opinions about tomato varieties too (and he's probably right). Funny how the pushy ones always end up being sorta helpful.
