Just hit 100 calls about the same fridge model this month

All for the same high end brand's french door unit with the dual evaporators. The pattern is clear, the main board is cooking itself because of a bad placement near the condenser coil. I'm talking a 90% failure rate on units between 3 and 5 years old. The part is on a 6 week backorder and the repair bill is over $600 just for the board. Has anyone found a reliable workaround or a third party board that doesn't fail in 6 months?

Have you tried adding a small heat sink to the board? It might buy some time until the real fix comes through. What brand is this so I can avoid it?

That board runs at 85C normally, beth_webb76. A heat sink is just a band-aid for a design flaw. Seen this on a few units, the thermal paste job from the factory is terrible. Not sure avoiding the brand is the answer, they all cut corners somewhere.

Remember my old laptop that cooked eggs... literally had to put ice packs under it.
