Used to binge whole anime seasons in one night, now I can't get past episode 3 without falling asleep

Back in 2018 I'd crush a 24-episode show like Psycho-Pass in a single sitting, no problem. Now I'm 32, work 10-hour delivery shifts, and by the time I sit down to watch something new, my eyes are heavy by the first commercial break. I tried starting Demon Slayer last Tuesday and fell asleep during episode 2, woke up to the credits. Has anyone else hit this age wall where your attention span just tanks for anime?

That bit about how your brain processes downtime is spot on. I think the real issue is that when you're younger, your brain treats anime like easy fun mode. But after a long day of work, your brain sees it as just another thing to process, not relaxation. So instead of getting sucked into the story, your brain goes "nah, we're shutting down." I noticed that even rewatching old favorites isn't the same. Like I tried rewatching Cowboy Bebop last month, but I just kept checking my phone every 10 minutes. It's not the shows, it's our brains being too tired to care about pretend drama anymore.
