Rant: the "filler episode" hate in One Piece has gone too far
Every time a new batch of One Piece episodes drops, half the fandom on here rushes to label anything that isn't a major fight as filler, even when those episodes are adapting canon manga chapters from Oda. I've been reading the manga since 2011 and I can point to at least a dozen so called filler moments, like the crew just eating and joking on the Sunny, that later pay off in ways the anime only crowd never sees coming. So my question is this, when did slow character moments become something to skip instead of something to sit with, and are we really better off fast forwarding to the next punch?
Ever watch a friend skip the Skypiea campfire stuff then act shocked when the Noland flashback hit? She binged it all in two weeks and still missed why it mattered.
