I spent $60 on a Blu-ray box set that ended up being a total scam

I found this 'complete series' of an old mecha anime online for what seemed like a great price. When it arrived, the video quality was awful, like a bad YouTube rip burned onto a disc. The subtitles were full of weird grammar errors and the case was super flimsy. It basically taught me to always check reviews for physical anime releases before buying, especially from random sellers. Has anyone else gotten burned by a bootleg set that looked legit at first glance?

Oh, that reminds me of when I bought a DVD set of a classic sci-fi show at a flea market. The cover art looked perfect, but the discs themselves were just cheap CD-Rs with handwritten labels. The episodes would freeze halfway through, and some were even in the wrong order. It was such a letdown after thinking I'd found a treasure. I learned my lesson about buying media from places without a return policy. Now I just assume if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Ugh that's the worst kind of flea market scam. Happened to me with a movie box set that was just blank discs. Total waste of cash. Makes you lose trust in buying used stuff. Now I only get media from places I know are legit.

My cousin got a bootleg video game that corrupted his whole console.
