The tamper switch that screamed at 3 AM in a dentist's office
Last Tuesday I was swapping a panel in a dentist office off Route 9 and the old motion sensor cover popped loose, so the thing went into full alarm at 3 AM while the doc was still in there doing paperwork. The customer ran out holding a drill like a weapon and I had to calm him down before I could even reach the keypad. Has anyone else had a zone that just gives up after a battery swap, or did I just get lucky with a dying reed switch?

Oh man reed switches are the worst. I had one go out on my old vape and I spent like an hour thinking my battery was dead before I figured it out.

Spent a whole night once convinced my truck had a dead starter when it was just a loose ground wire on the block. Same kind of deal, you chase the fancy stuff first and it turns out to be some dumb little contact point. Funny how a five cent piece of metal can waste hours of your life.
