Vent: I thought air fryer salmon would be a total disaster
My friend in Portland swore by it, but I was convinced it would dry out and stink up the kitchen. I tried it last week with a simple honey-soy glaze, cooking it for just 12 minutes at 375 degrees. It came out perfectly flaky and moist, with way less smell than using my oven. Has anyone else been surprised by a food that turned out great in the air fryer?

Totally felt that way about chicken thighs. Always used the oven and they'd be fine, but kind of boring. Threw some skin-on ones in the air fryer with just salt and pepper, maybe 20 minutes. The skin got so crispy, like crackling, and the meat stayed stupid juicy. Couldn't believe it was that easy.

Salmon in an air fryer is a legit game changer lol. I was the same way, totally expecting a fishy smelling apartment and a dried out brick. The speed is what gets me, like it's done before the oven even finishes preheating.

Right? I'm with you and @charles442 on the speed thing. I tried a frozen salmon filet from the back of my freezer, just brushed with a little soy sauce. It was flaky and perfect in maybe 12 minutes, no weird smell at all. My oven is basically just for storage now. What temp do you usually run yours at?
