Tried to air fry a whole potato versus cutting it into wedges
I was in a rush last Tuesday and just shoved a big russet in there, set it for 40 minutes. It came out okay, but the middle was still a bit hard. The next night, I cut one into wedges, tossed them in a little oil and salt, and they were perfect in 18 minutes. Has anyone else found that cutting things up first is the real key to good air fryer results?

Yeah, wedges always cook way faster for me too.

Depends on the potato honestly. I've had whole russets turn out fine if I poke them a lot first and maybe give them a quick microwave zap. The wedges are definitely faster, but a whole baked potato texture hits different sometimes.

Right, like david562 said, wedges just get that heat in there. I saw a video that said the air needs space to move around the food, so bigger pieces block it.
