I used to preheat my air fryer for 10 minutes every single time

I thought you HAD to preheat like an oven. Then one day I made chicken wings at my friend's house and she just threw them in cold. They came out WAY crispier than mine ever do. I asked her about it and she said she never preheats for meats because it dries them out. I tried it at home with frozen fries and they were actually better in 12 minutes vs 15 with preheat. Now I only preheat for batter coated stuff like corn dogs. Has anyone else noticed a difference with no preheat for certain foods?

Yeah, 10 minutes preheat is way too long.

Wait, you're seriously preheating your oven for 10 minutes? That sounds crazy to me. I usually just turn it on, wait like 30 seconds, and throw my pizza or whatever in there. By the time it's done cooking it's hot enough, right? Honestly, I've never had anything come out raw or cold doing it that way. Ngl, waiting 10 whole minutes would drive me up the wall.
