Bagel bites vs homemade dough for air fryer pizza snacks
I tried making air fryer pizza bites two ways this week. First I tossed in some frozen bagel bites and they came out decent in like 8 minutes. Then I tried making little dough rounds from scratch with pizza dough, sauce, and cheese. The homemade ones were way crispier on the bottom and the cheese got all melty without burning. Bagel bites were fine for a quick fix but the homemade ones only took maybe 5 extra minutes to assemble. Has anyone else experimented with different bases for air fryer pizzas?

Way crispier on the bottom and the cheese got all melty" - I mean, are we really acting like this is some huge breakthrough? You put dough, sauce, and cheese in an air fryer and it turned out better than frozen bagel bites. That's like saying a homemade burger tastes better than a McDouble. Of course it does. The real question is whether those 5 extra minutes are worth it when you're tired and just want to shove something in your mouth. I've done both, and honestly sometimes the bagel bites win just because I don't have to wash a cutting board after.

@seth_harris36 nailed it with the McDouble comparison. That cutting board cleaning is the real hidden cost of homemade though. I've been using pre-made pizza crust from the store, just tear off little pieces, and it's way less cleanup than rolling out dough from scratch.

preach, the cleanup tax on homemade stuff is real and nobody talks about it enough
