I finally stopped ignoring AI detection tools after it flagged my own writing twice

I used to think those AI detectors were total garbage, like snake oil for teachers and editors. Then last month I ran some client emails through Originality.ai just to test it, and it caught 3 sentences I wrote from scratch as 90% AI. I literally rewrote that paragraph three times and it kept flagging me. Turns out my writing style uses a lot of the same repetitive sentence structures that LLMs do, so it matched patterns. Now I run everything through before submitting to strict clients, saved me from getting called out on a $400 freelance project. Has anyone else had this happen where the detector basically says you sound like a bot?

The tattoo idea isn't that crazy honestly. I had a client last week tell me my invoice copy "read like a robot's worst nightmare" because I used too many transition words like "however" and "furthermore." Ran it through GPTZero just to prove them wrong and it came back 75 percent AI. Now I have to go back and add in my natural typos and run-on sentences just to pass their little test. Makes me wonder how many good writers are getting passed over because they write clean and consistent.

Keep telling myself I'm gonna get a tattoo that says "THIS HUMAN WROTE THIS" just to save future arguments with editors and clients. My buddies think I'm paranoid but they haven't had their own words come back as 90 percent algorithmic before. Honestly at this point I'm half convinced the bots are just better writers than me so maybe I should start outsourcing my brain.
