inTried to forge a simple hook last week, ended up with a metal pretzel
Hah, that's actually a pretty cool happy accident! Maybe you should start a line of decorative metal pretzels for gardens. What do you do to snap back into focus after a distraction?

inHeard great things about the dumpling truck, but my soup was cold
Man, that's a bummer! I actually read a blog post last week about how food trucks can have trouble with temperature control (something about limited power for warmers, I think). It made me wonder if that's why some places serve stuff lukewarm. Your experience totally lines up with that, which is a shame because hot soup is the best part. Maybe they need to tweak their setup, but who knows.

inUnpopular opinion: Audiobooks on my bike commute actually improve my work mornings
Agree that audiobooks can make any commute better. For your bike ride, try picking stories that are exciting but not too complex, so you don't get lost in thought and miss your turn. Honestly, this works on trains and buses too, maybe even more because you can fully zone out. I started with mystery novels because each chapter ends with a cliffhanger, pushing me to keep listening. The trick is to find a book that feels like a friend talking to you, not a lecture. Once you match the content to your ride length, you'll wonder how you ever commuted in silence.

inNeighbor's open garage while they're away: step in or stay out?
Doesn't it feel like we're all getting too worried about legal stuff instead of just helping out? I see this all the time where people freeze up over simple neighborly acts (like closing a garage door) because they're scared of getting in trouble. I'd probably just close it and leave a note, but that's just me.
