The quiet satisfaction of helping my uncle with his beard
I work as a cosmetologist, and most of my days are in the salon, but some of the best moments happen at home. My uncle has always kept his beard simple, just a quick shave now and then. He had a big family dinner coming up and wanted to look nicer, so he asked me for tips. We sat at his kitchen table, and I walked him through how to wash his face, use oil, and trim with care. He listened closely, and his hands were a bit shaky at first, but he got the hang of it. After we were done, he kept touching his beard and smiling in the mirror. He told me he felt more put together and ready for the event. It was a small thing, but seeing him happy reminded me why I chose this job.
