TIL about jib extension limits but I'm confused on the calculations.

Something a lot of charts don't show clearly is how much the ground condition changes the math (soft dirt versus solid concrete). That moment load gets way bigger if the outriggers sink even a little. Always check the plate for the fully extended chart, but honestly, if the numbers seem close, just don't do it. The capacity really does fall off a cliff past a certain point.

Tap water debate turned our plant meetup tense last weekend

Funny how these small choices make people dig in like it's politics or sports teams anymore.

I spent five years in a chain bakery, but my new job at a local place has a way better boss.

Margaret's right too, it changes how they handle bad news at work.

Rant: My rush job proved carpet acclimation isn't always needed

Are you seriously saying there's zero buckling after two months? That goes against everything I've ever seen, honestly (and I've seen a lot). Skipping acclimation might seem okay at first, but problems usually show up with the first big humidity change. The fact that nothing has shifted yet for you is just wild to me. I've had jobs where we followed all the rules and still got callbacks from seams lifting. Maybe you got insanely lucky with the batch and the weather that day.

I was wrong about linen thread until I saw those medieval manuscripts.

Wow, @the_robin's story proves it too. Natural stuff just lasts way longer than modern shortcuts. Makes total sense to switch to linen.
