I switched to stretching carpet from the center out. No more wrinkles, but the setup is fiddlier. Solid method or too much hassle?

Yeah pulling from the corners is a game changer lol. Makes it way easier to get it tight without fighting the middle. Totally saved my back last time.

Why does nobody talk about the glue dry time on humid days?

Actually, glue drying times stay pretty steady if you prep the surface right. Humid days get blamed but it's often bad air flow or cool temps slowing things down. Some glues even set better with a bit of dampness in the air. I've finished jobs in muggy weather that dried quicker than in dry heat. Folks focus on humidity but forget the glue type or how thick it's applied. Picking the right product for the day matters more than blaming the air.

Rant: That MISSED bus led to meeting my now biking buddy

Got completely lost trying to find a new trailhead last spring and stopped at a diner to ask for directions. Ended up sharing a piece of pie with the older gentleman at the next booth, who turned out to be a lifelong resident. He drew me a better map on a napkin and now we meet at that same diner every month so he can tell me stories about the town. Funny how a wrong turn can do that.

I mean, skipping the dado stack when building cabinet shelves is just asking for a wobbly mess, idk why anyone does it

My buddy tried pocket holes on some garage shelves thinking it'd be faster. They held for a week before the whole unit leaned like the Tower of Pisa, was kinda funny to see.

Testing a new camp lantern by reading a book inside it was not my brightest idea

My copy of Dune has 6-point font. I spent twenty minutes just squinting at a single page before my eyes gave up.
