Years ago, interview podcasts put me to sleep. Now, a bread-making series has me hooked.

Totally get that shift. For me, it's the SMELL and SOUND they capture, the crackle of the crust. Most interview pods just feel like people talking AT you, but a good process show pulls you right into the room.

My podcast habit is basically just listening to people make bread or fix engines now. I tried to explain the appeal to my partner and just ended up waving my hands around describing the sound of a torque wrench. It's that texture that makes you feel present, versus some host just reading off a list of questions. The interview format can't compete with feeling like you're covered in sawdust.

Totally converted after hearing what david562 said about the sensory stuff.
