I finally got why my local park run group is all about audio documentaries now

Honestly, I've been joining the weekly park run for months, and recently, half the runners have headphones on listening to podcasts. Tbh, I thought it was just music at first, but then a friend told me they're into audio docs about urban wildlife in our city. Ngl, I tried one called 'City Critters' and it blew my mind. It covers stuff like the raccoon families in our alleys and the hawks nesting downtown. Now I get it - hearing those stories while jogging past the same spots makes the whole route feel different. It's like a free tour with cool facts. I've told a few neighbors and they're hooked too. If you're local, you should give it a listen; it turns a boring run into something special.

Wait, raccoon families in the alleys? You're telling me we have whole raccoon families just hanging around and I've never even noticed? That's wild! I walk my dog down those same alleys all the time and I guess I just tune everything out. Now I'm gonna be staring into every shadow looking for little raccoon eyes. That audio doc must really point out the stuff we walk right past. Have you actually spotted one since you started listening?

so good! Yeah it totally changes how you see the place. I listened to that episode last week and now I hear them every single night, rustling around the bins. My trash cans are proof. The lids are always halfway off in the morning. Once you know, you can't not see the signs. You're gonna be obsessed.
