Months of practice paid off with my perfect pour painting video
I've always been obsessed with those satisfying pour art clips where colors swirl and merge. After so many failed attempts with runny or clumpy paint, I finally nailed the medium consistency. Recording the slow, smooth flow as it created those tiny cells was incredibly rewarding. Now I have a clip that loops perfectly, and it's my own little victory. Definitely belongs in this community for oddly satisfying vids.

My friend Elena actually recorded her entire process last year, frame by frame. She had this issue where her paint would either flood the canvas or stick in globs, no in-between. I mean, she must have tried like twenty different ratios before she landed on one that worked. When she finally got those tiny cells, she texted me a video and I swear, her reaction was exactly what @thomaspatel said, unbelievable. It was all about letting the medium sit for a bit after mixing, something about the thickness settling. Seeing her loop that perfect pour felt like a shared win, even though I was just watching.

What was the trick to nailing the medium consistency? My past attempts usually end up as expensive abstract blobs.

Did you track the exact ratio of paint to medium this time? @fiona_murphy might need those numbers if her mixes keep going blob-shaped. Getting that formula down changes everything.
