Vent: All the gadget sites hype noise-cancelling earbuds, but I prefer my basic wired set

I keep reading reviews that say noise-cancelling is a must for any audio gear. My plain wired earbuds from a few seasons back still give me clear sound without any extra tech fuss. They never need charging, and I don't have to worry about firmware updates or connection drops. For just listening to music during my commute, the simple option works better for me.

Yeah, and you never have to hunt for a case or wait for them to pair. I keep a cheap pair in my bag as a backup for that exact reason. It's like @the_hayden said, they're just reliable. All the extra features feel like solving problems I never really had in the first place. Sometimes simple tech just gets the job done without any hassle.

Like you said, wired earbuds not needing charging is why I stick with mine too.

Saw an article calling them the last truly reliable tech.

That article has a point about reliability, but calling them the last reliable tech feels a bit strong. Plenty of simple, single-purpose gadgets still work for years without a fuss. It's more about choosing tools that don't overcomplicate the task.
