A client told me my project updates were 'too much, too often' and it stung

I was sending detailed emails every single day to a client in Austin, thinking I was being super thorough. After two weeks, she flat out said 'I trust you, but this is drowning my inbox. Send me a summary every Friday unless there's a fire.' I switched to a single weekly update with three bullet points and my approval rate for proposals went up. Has anyone else had to learn to scale BACK communication to keep a client happy?

How do you even decide what makes the cut for those three bullet points? I'd probably stress over that more than the daily emails.

My friend got so stuck on that, @reeseperez, he just started listing his three dumbest mistakes each day.

Austin taught me to only send the three biggest wins each week.
