Found a stack of old postcards in a library book about Maine

I had to choose between keeping them as a set or returning them to the library lost and found. I returned them, and the librarian said they'd been missing since 1998. Has anyone else found something that clearly belonged to a specific person and managed to get it back to them?

I once found a wallet and returned it... the guy was so happy he bought me a coffee. I just hope he didn't see the five bucks I "borrowed" for my trouble.

Wow, that's a great story. My buddy found a class ring in a park years ago. It had the school and graduation year engraved inside. He tracked down the high school alumni office online, and they put him in touch with the guy. Turns out the man had lost it on a visit to his hometown nearly a decade before. He mailed it back, and the guy sent my friend a thank you card with a photo of him wearing the ring again.
