Hit 100 jars of hot sauce this week and it feels weirdly important

I didn't realize I had that many going until I did a count in my basement last night. How many jars do you guys usually have sitting around at any one time?

Wow, 100 jars?! That's crazy... I don't think I've ever had more than maybe 15 or 20 at a time and that felt like a lot. Usually I keep a few fermenting in my pantry and maybe a half dozen ready to eat in the fridge but 100 is just... wild. Do you have a whole shelf or cabinet dedicated to them? I can't even imagine the variety you must have going, like are they all different or do you make multiples of the same recipe?

Ngl @wendyk56, my friend had 80 jars and her whole pantry smelled like a pickle farm.

Oh I've been there with the pickle farm smell, it takes over everything. What finally worked for me was switching to smaller batches and using those glass jars with the rubber seals instead of plastic lids. I found that airlock lids helped cut down on the smell too, but honestly the biggest thing was keeping them in the basement where the temperature stays steady and the smell doesn't wander into the living space. For me, 25 to 30 jars is my sweet spot now and I cycle through them faster so nothing sits around too long.
