Remembering that crazy week in Cheyenne with the draft horse rescue

We trimmed and shod 17 horses in three days, and my old rounding hammer finally gave out on the last hoof. What's the most horses you've ever worked on in a single day?

Honestly, that Cheyenne story hits home. Had a day with 9 horses needing urgent attention after a trailer issue. The trick was having a second person just to HANDLE the feet, so I could focus on the trimming and nailing. You find a rhythm, but man, you're running on fumes and black coffee by the end. That feeling when a trusty tool finally quits is like losing a crew member.

Ever think you could only handle a few? Did 8 in one day and it totally changed my view.

My cousin bet me I couldn't finish a whole sleeve of saltines once. Crumbs everywhere, throat like a desert. @cameronjenkins, your eight thing day reminds me of that weird pride. It's not about the saltines, it's about finding a line you didn't know you had. Then just stepping over it because someone said you couldn't.
