I never understood the hate for my family's stew seasoning
My grandpa added this weird spice mix to his beef stew, and now everyone in the family copies it. I mean, I get that it's not for everyone, but for me, it smells like his kitchen on Sundays. People say it's too strong, but I think it's perfect. It just reminds me of him, you know?

Seasoning debates always blow my mind. Your grandpa's mix is part of your family story, and that's cool. But why do folks act like their taste buds are the law? Memories make food special, but they don't change how it tastes to others. The whole thing feels over the top. We're talking about a pot of stew, not world peace.

Come on, it's just stew seasoning. People get worked up over the weirdest things in the kitchen. If it makes you think of your grandpa, that's what matters, even if it tastes like old socks to everyone else.

Did you see that article a while back about how smells are the strongest link to memory? It makes total sense why you'd love that seasoning even if it's strong. Some people just won't get it because they don't have the same memory hook. I mean, my aunt makes a pie crust with too much salt for most, but it tastes like her house to me. It's kinda sad when folks can't separate their own taste from someone else's good memory.
