PSA: A client's reaction at the Denver spa show made me rethink my consultation script

I was giving a demo on hydration serums at the Denver spa show last month, and a client stopped me to ask what 'non-comedogenic' really meant. I gave my usual line about not clogging pores, but she pressed me, asking for the actual ingredients that cause clogging versus the ones that don't. I realized my script was too vague and didn't actually help her make a choice. Now I always list specific pore-clogging oils and waxes by name during consults. Has anyone else had to totally rewrite their basic talking points after a simple question?

Happens with tech specs too, all jargon no substance.

Yeah, had a client ask me to point out the actual smoothing acids on the label once... my old script was useless for that.

My buddy's script failed when a client, like @dakota_patel98 mentioned, demanded to see the "brightening" ingredients listed.
