Appreciation post: a vintage radio repair in Portland that went perfectly
Last Tuesday, I fixed a 1957 Zenith Trans-Oceanic for a local collector. Everything from the tube tester reading to the alignment just clicked on the first try. When have you had a job where every step went exactly as planned?

Wait, a Zenith Trans-Oceanic on the first try? That's insane, those things are notoriously finicky. I've heard horror stories about the alignment taking forever. You must have had some serious luck or black magic on your side that day.

@evanschmidt, sometimes the stars align and a finicky old radio decides to cooperate for once.
