I finally got a local business to answer a cold email
Honestly, I've been trying to connect with other small business owners in the city for months with zero replies. Last week, I sent a short email to a cafe owner on Whyte Ave, specifically mentioning their recent patio renovation and asking one clear question about their supplier. They actually wrote back the same day and we're meeting for coffee next Tuesday. Has anyone else found a trick that actually gets a response from busy Edmonton owners?

Isn't it just luck though? You got one reply after months of trying... what if that cafe owner was just having a good day? Most owners are too swamped to even check that inbox. I've sent dozens of those personal notes before and got nothing back, it feels like shouting into the void. Maybe you just caught them at the exact right second before they deleted it.
