Honestly, that week in February with the downtown power outage was a real mess for my cafe
Tbh, the power was out for almost 8 hours on a Tuesday, and we had to throw out all our fresh milk and perishables. It cost me over $700 in lost product and sales. The worst part was the network lunch meeting I had booked got canceled last minute because the venue was dark. Has anyone else had to deal with a major utility issue wrecking their business week?

That lost product cost is brutal. I keep a small backup generator now just for the fridge and a couple of lights. It doesn't fix everything, but it saved the bacon during a short outage last month.

Seven hundred bucks worth of groceries just... gone? What all were you storing, a whole side of beef and like a year's supply of fancy cheese? I can't even imagine opening the fridge to that smell... all that milk, meat, everything just warm and ruined. That's a whole paycheck down the drain in a few hours.
