Shoutout to my bathroom ceiling for its surprise water feature
I was painting the guest bathroom in my house in Boise last Tuesday. Cut in around a new light fixture, no big deal. When I went to put the paint can lid back on, my elbow hit the shutoff valve for the sink. Water shot straight up, hit the ceiling, and rained back down on me and my fresh paint job. Grabbed a towel and a bucket, but the ceiling now has a weird texture. Anyone else have a plumbing mishap turn into a full room redo?

But honestly, why even fix it? That new texture gives the room some character, and a story is way better than a perfect ceiling. I'd just leave it as a funny reminder and call the room done.

The thing is, @ward.jamie, that texture can hold dust and cobwebs like crazy over time. It becomes a real pain to clean, not just a fun story. You might end up regretting not fixing it when it was easy.

So you basically installed a custom water-stain finish... how much do you charge for that? My bathroom ceiling is still just boring old drywall, but now I feel like I'm missing out on the full spa experience with built-in drip features.
