Finally gave up on using a regular drill for mixing joint compound

After my third burnt out motor in two years, a guy at the hardware store convinced me to buy a proper mud mixer for $45. Has anyone found a decent cordless option that actually holds up?

Ever try a corded one first like nora_lewis did? My cordless just couldn't handle it either.
