Why does nobody talk about the right way to store paint brushes?
I was cleaning out my garage in Toledo and found three brushes ruined from last summer. They were stiff and bent. My neighbor said to just wrap them in plastic, but that's wrong. You need to wash them, then hang them bristles down in a jar with water just covering the bristles. That keeps the shape. How do you guys keep your brushes good between projects?

Man, I used to just rinse mine and toss them in a toolbox! Totally ruined a good angled brush that way. Your jar trick sounds way smarter for keeping the bristles straight. Gonna try that next time I have to pause a painting job.

Oh man, my buddy did the exact same thing with his brand new brush last month! He left it sitting in a dirty roller tray overnight. Woke up to this totally bent, crusty mess. Had to toss a twenty dollar brush straight in the trash.

See this all the time with tools. People buy decent stuff then wreck it through simple neglect. Watched a neighbor leave a wet paint roller on his new deck last summer, left a stain he couldn't get out. It's like we value the act of buying over the act of maintaining.
