I just hit 15 years in the same house and realized I've never painted a single wall.

It's a 1978 ranch in Akron. When we moved in, the beige was fine. Then it was just a 'next year' thing. Saw the date on the mortgage statement and did the math. It's not that I'm against it, I just always had a more pressing fix. Now the color feels like part of the structure. Anyone else have a basic maintenance thing they've somehow never gotten around to for over a decade?

Honestly, "part of the structure" got me. Tbh that beige must feel like it's holding up the roof by now. Ngl fifteen years is a whole era of just accepting that color.

Wow, okay. Is it really that deep? Beige walls are just background noise. You didn't forget to fix the furnace for fifteen years. It's paint. My parents' place still has the same ugly wallpaper from the 90s because who cares? It's not like you're living in a museum. The roof doesn't leak because of the color.
