Took 45 minutes to figure out my rice cooker was on warm, not cook
I got home at 6:30 starving, dumped in rice and water, set the timer for 8:00, and by 8:45 the rice was still crunchy because the dial had slipped to 'warm' after my cat jumped on the counter, has anyone else had a finicky dial waste a whole evening?

lol honestly sounds like the dial gave you a free lesson in patience. a warm setting is literally designed to keep rice warm, not cook it. blame the cat all you want but maybe the universe was telling you to order takeout and chill for once. crunchy rice is a blessing in disguise, you got to experience the texture of a real struggle meal. plus now you know your cat's got sneaky counter ambitions, so honestly that's the real win here.
