Just realized pre-cut veggies are costing me more than time

I used to buy those bags of pre-chopped onions and peppers every week from the local Kroger, thinking I was saving 10 minutes each night. Last Tuesday I added up the receipts and saw I was spending $8 extra per week for something I could chop in 3 minutes flat. Has anyone else done the math on convenience foods and found they aren't really worth it?

Have you actually timed yourself chopping a full bag of onions and peppers? I did that after my own wake-up call and realized it takes me closer to 4 or 5 minutes because I stop to wipe my eyes and wash my hands between veggies. But even then, saving like 50 bucks a month adds up fast when you could just throw on a podcast and knock it out in one go for the whole week.

Yeah, that "saving 50 bucks a month" part got me rethinking my grocery bill honestly.
