Bali's coworking hype made me miss my boring local library

Spent 3 weeks in Canggu last month because everyone raves about the digital nomad scene there. Yeah, the cafes have great wifi and smoothie bowls, but I paid $8 a day just for a seat near a power outlet. The noise level was worse than any Starbucks back home, and I got more work done in 2 hours at my local library than in 8 hours at those 'inspired' spaces. Don't get me wrong, the island is beautiful, but the whole coworking culture there feels like a tax on people who forget a $50 desk setup at home works fine. Anyone else feel like the 'nomad hotspots' are just overpriced versions of what you already had? What city surprised you by being worse for remote work than expected?

Man, $8 a day for a seat and a plug is like paying rent for a chair that doesn't even come with a free refill of water. Those Bali spots are basically a gym membership where the only workout is dodging someone's laptop elbow. My local library gives me the same quiet, better lighting, and I can eat my sad sandwich without feeling judged by a guy named Jasper.
