My entire portfolio site got wiped by a bad plugin update last Thursday

I was running a simple gallery plugin on my WordPress site and the auto-update just erased every single image file from the server. Anyone know a truly reliable hosting backup service that works automatically?

My friend in Seattle lost two years of client work photos the same way. Her hosting had a backup option she never turned on. She ended up paying a data recovery service over a thousand bucks. I check my own backup logs every Monday now because of her. For automatic stuff, look for a service that does both file and database backups, not just one.

My cousin's design portfolio got wiped when his cheap hosting crashed. He had to rebuild everything from old emails and social media scraps. Took him months to piece it back together.
