Just realized my entire art show file was corrupted 30 minutes before the online gallery opened.
I was in my home studio in Tacoma, frantically trying to open the .psd file for my main piece, when my computer just gave me that spinning wheel of doom, so I had to dig through 6 months of cloud backups to find a version that would load, and I barely got it uploaded in time.

Honestly, that cloud backup system saved you. Calling it a frantic dig makes it sound bad, but having six months of versions ready to go is actually a solid setup. A lot of people just save to their desktop and would have lost everything for good. You had a safety net and it worked.

My backup plan is basically a digital junk drawer with old tax files from 2018. It works, but finding anything in there is its own kind of crisis. I guess any safety net is better than none, even a messy one.
