Can we talk about people using the wrong canvas size for social media art?

I keep seeing amazing pieces posted at 72 DPI that look super pixelated on any screen bigger than a phone. My friend in Seattle sent me a commission last week that was 2000x2000 at 72 DPI, and I had to explain why it wouldn't print clearly. Does anyone else run into this when clients send reference files?

Oh man, the DPI thing gets me. It's actually PPI for screens, DPI is for printers. But yeah, same problem. Clients just don't know the difference.

Angela's 72 DPI billboard request is the classic example.

Worst is when they send a 72 DPI logo and want it on a billboard.
