My uncle told me to buy a warehouse near Eastern Market in 2019, but I thought the area was too risky.

He was right, the property value has doubled and now I can't afford to get in. Anyone else miss a big Detroit opportunity because they were too cautious?

Doubled since 2019? That's the part that gets me. I knew things were moving fast over there, but that's just crazy. I looked at a spot near there for something else a few years back and passed for the same reason, seemed too rough. Now I'm just kicking myself. It feels like the whole city flipped overnight and I was just standing still.

Tell me about it. I passed on a unit in that area in 2020 for the same reason, total regret now. The whole market just took off without us.

The value doubling since 2019 is a bit off, it's been a steady climb for longer. I remember seeing places near Gratiot and Riopelle start to move back in like 2017. Rodriguez.felix, you mentioning 2020 shows how fast it got later, but the change wasn't overnight. A lot of us just didn't notice the early signs, like the new businesses opening in those old buildings. We saw the risk but missed the groundwork that was already laid.
