Spent $40 on a dashcam after my car got hit and run in a grocery store lot and the footage saved me $500 on the deductible.
The footage was clear enough to catch the other car's plate and the insurance company actually used it to find the guy, has anyone else had a cheap gadget pay for itself like that?

Honestly I never thought a cheap dashcam would be that useful but yours totally proved it. For $40 that thing basically saved you a ton of money and hassle. I got one after seeing a few videos online and it gives me some peace of mind even if I never have to use it. The fact that it caught the plate clearly is the real payoff there.
