My little victory was finally fixing a weird draft from my apartment window
I spent about two hours trying to figure out where this cold air was coming from, and it turned out the weather stripping on just one side of the window had completely worn away. I replaced it with a $5 kit from the hardware store and the difference is huge. Has anyone else had a simple fix that took way too long to figure out?

That feeling when you finally find the source of a draft is the best. I had the same thing with a weird whistling noise in my bedroom last winter, drove me crazy for weeks. It was just a tiny gap in the old door seal that I kept walking right past. What's the most stubborn home issue you've finally cracked?

You said finding the source of a draft is the best feeling, but I have to disagree. For me, it's the opposite. It feels like I failed for so long. Last year my kitchen faucet had this slow drip, just a random plink in the quiet house. I changed the washer, I messed with the valve, nothing worked. I finally realized the whole cartridge was shot after months of that noise. Cracking it just made me mad I didn't see it sooner.
