Got a genuine thank you from a regular's kid today.

I was finishing up a standard poodle trim for Mrs. Chen when her son, maybe eight years old, was watching. He usually just plays on his tablet. Today he looked up and said, 'You make him look like a fancy lion.' It was so simple and silly, but it was the first time anyone's ever described my work like that. It happened right by the grooming table, around 3 PM. That one comment just made the whole messy, hairy day feel worth it. Do you ever get a random bit of praise that just lands perfectly?

Honestly, that's the best feeling. I was planting some hydrangeas last week and the homeowner's little girl came out. She just sat on the steps and told me I was making the dirt pretty. Ngl, I almost teared up. It's those tiny, honest moments from kids that stick with you way more than a check. Makes all the sweat worth it.

Man, kids have the best way of making you feel like a total hero for just doing your job. I once trimmed a hedge into a lopsided blob and the neighbor boy told his mom I made a cloud for their garden. I was so proud of that sad little bush after that. Makes you forget you're just covered in grass stains and bug bites.
