Can we talk about pets and car rides after my dog's window obsession today?

Today, my dog spent an hour with his head out the car window on a quick drive to the store. He was so happy, but it reminded me of our longer trip last month. Some folks say pets love road trips and seeing new things. Others worry about safety and stress from long hours in the car. My dog gets excited but also whines if we stop too much. I'm torn between taking him on adventures or leaving him home for comfort. What do you all think about pets on road trips?

Are we really overthinking DOG JOY here? If he likes the window, just roll it down. People act like every car ride needs a five-page safety plan.

But where's the line, you know? My dog loves it too, but last week a bee flew in and stung his nose. Now I'm stuck between his happy face and a vet bill.
