Bought a fancy cat fountain after my old one broke down

My cat, Gus, spent the whole afternoon just watching the water flow, then he walked over and drank from his old bowl on the floor. Has anyone else's pet completely ignored a new gadget you got for them?

Oh, that sounds exactly like my old cat. I spent a small fortune on one of those heated beds last winter, and she slept in the cardboard box it came in instead. They just get so set in their ways, and the new thing, no matter how nice, is just strange to them. You have to laugh at it, even though it's a bit frustrating after you were trying to do something nice. Gus might come around to it in a week or two, once it just becomes part of the furniture.
