Why does nobody talk about how hard it is to doodle with a broken thumb
I broke my right thumb slipping on ice outside my apartment in Minneapolis three weeks ago and I have not been able to hold a pen right since. I tried doodling with my left hand for the first time tonight and every circle came out looking like a squished oval. My sketches of my cat now look like a potato with ears. Has anyone else had to switch hands for a while, and how long did it take before your doodles stopped looking like a toddler got ahold of a marker?
Three weeks is still pretty early for your left hand, so don't be too hard on it. It's not really about your thumb healing, it's that your left hand just has no practice yet. Your right hand took years to get good, so give the left one a couple months before you judge it.
