My $12 pack of India ink pens saved a messy doodle session
I was doing quick sketches at a coffee shop in Denver and my usual brush pen started bleeding through my pocket sketchbook. Ran to a Blick store nearby and grabbed a pack of Faber-Castell India ink pens for around $12. The fine tip held up through 30 minutes of messy line work without any feathering. Has anyone else found a cheap pen that changed how you doodle on the go?

Those are actually pigment ink pens, not true India ink, but they work great for travel sketching. India ink is shellac based and will clog a fine tip pen fast. The Faber-Castells are solid for the price though.

Man I learned this the hard way with a Pitt pen I thought was waterproof that totally bled through three pages of my sketchbook at a coffee shop once. Still find little ink ghosts from that day everywhere.
