Doodled a raccoon in a wizard hat, chose pencil over pen, no regrets
Sat down after showing a house in Tacoma and had 20 minutes before my next call. I needed to pick between a fine liner or a plain #2 pencil for a quick sketch, and I went with pencil because I knew I'd mess up the shading. The raccoon ended up looking way more like a grumpy cat with a beard, but the eraser saved me 3 times during the tail. My agent buddy walked by and said "is that your listing photo?" which almost made me spill my coffee. Anyone else grab the pencil when they know the pen will betray them?

Pencil is the ultimate safety net for anyone who overthinks every stroke. The eraser is basically a second brain at that point, and honestly, that grumpy cat raccoon probably has more character than a clean pen version ever would.

Ha, @rodriguez.felix nailed it! That eraser is basically a second brain for sure. I did the same thing last week sketching a fox, went with pencil, and the thing had like four legs by the time I was done. The erase marks just add texture if you ask me, makes it look like the critter is in motion or something.
