A guy at the diner in Omaha looked at my doodle pad and said stop drawing cars from the side
I have been filling my sketchbook with nothing but side profiles of cars for like 2 years, probably 300 of them, and I felt pretty good about it. He flipped through and said straight up, "you are hiding from the hard part," which stung but he was right, I had not drawn a front view since high school. So now I force myself to do one ugly front-facing doodle every morning, and they are genuinely terrible, has anyone else had somebody call out their one art crutch like that?
