Just switched from Starbucks to a local roaster. Cost me $18 for a bag of beans and I'm never going back.

oh man that reminds me of the first time i tried to grind my own beans at home and ended up with coffee grounds all over my counter because i forgot to put the lid on the grinder. it was a mess but the coffee tasted so much better than anything i ever got from a chain. i still buy from the local place down the street even though i have to walk like 15 minutes to get there.

Wait, $18 is actually pretty good for local beans around here? Ours run closer to $25.

Oh boy that's a whole different world once you start buying local beans. One thing people don't realize is those big chain roasts are often way darker than local places do them to hide the lower quality. That lighter roast from a small roaster actually has more caffeine and real flavor.
